Delta Kappa Epsilon is a private, members-only social fraternity founded at Yale University in 1844 by and for the school's social elite. Today, ∆KE continues to cater only to the best, and remains just as exclusive and successful as ever. As a mission, our fraternity cultivates in its members the three qualities of a true ∆KE: the gentleman, the scholar, and the jolly good fellow. The Brothers of ∆KE take this objective with the utmost seriousness.

At UBC, ∆KE is regarded as a top-tier fraternity among its contemporaries and is recognized in the community with distinction and respect. Our UBC chapter maintains strong relationships with all other greek organizations on campus, and we do not discriminate based on affiliation, race, colour, or creed. We are heavily involved in all manner of campus and community endeavours, and encourage all our members to make the most of the connections and opportunities our fraternity provides.

What is ∆KE?

∆KE is a Top Philanthropic Organization

Delta Kappa Epsilon prides itself on its philanthropic achievements. Year after year, ∆KE comes out as the top fraternity for philanthropy at UBC, among DKE Chapters worldwide, and sits as an all-time top philanthropic chapter in the National Interfraternity Council.

All chapters of Delta Kappa Epsilon in Canada work to benefit the Canadian Cancer Society. For four years in a row, the Phi Alpha chapter has won DKE's Lion Trophy Award in the Philanthropy and Service category, for having the most robust and successful philanthropy program of all DKE chapters. Our Stick-It to Cancer campaign has raised over $400,000 in the past decade, and shows no sign of slowing. It's no wonder our campaign is the second largest fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society nationwide.

∆KE is a Robust Sports Program

The Deke Lions are Delta Kappa Epsilon's network of intramural, philanthropic, and UBC REC sports teams. Consistently, the Deke Lions (which sometimes goes by the name the DKE ThunderGoats) place among the top-ranked intramural teams at UBC, including 5 Ice Hockey Championship titles in the past five years.

This year alone, the Deke Lions have made it to the UBC REC playoffs in every sport we play—and we play them all. From Alpha Delta Pi's Diamond Ball Champs to Gamma Phi Beta's Moonball Tournament to Delta Gamma's Anchor Splash synchronized swimming three-peat, you'd be hard pressed to find a league of men more committed to their sports.

∆KE is an Accelerated Academics Track

Brother Luke Allen (PA '12), graduated with distinction in just three years.

While Academics are an often-forgotten aspect of fraternity life, we make it a priority that our members excel in their studies. In fact, we ranked first among all DKE Chapters in the world for Academics.

We understand that not everyone is as highly versed in academia as they'd like to be. ∆KE prides itself on its academic programs like weekly "Textbook Tuesday" study sessions, years' worth of study materials from past students, and a network of Brothers committed to helping each other through their coursework. Ask any of our members; after joining Delta Kappa Epsilon, their grades improved.  Our members are part of several on-campus academic societies, such as the Order of Omega, Gamma Sigma Alpha and the Golden Key society.

∆KE is an Extensive Networking Oppourtunity

Father and son Matt D'Avignon (PA '14) and Gerry D'Avignon (PA '83) show off The Lion Trophy, awarded annually to the best ∆KE Chapter.

With membership in ∆KE comes access to our extensive alumni network. With over 700,000 alumni worldwide, the ∆KE Network follows you wherever you go, ready to provide a helping hand. Locally, we have an active network of over 1300 alumni spread across many industries and areas. Every year, hundreds of Phi Alpha alumni return to meet the incoming class, reconnect and rekindle old friendships, and promote success within the chapter and throughout the world. In addition, all ∆KE members have the lifelong privilege of being members of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Club of New York. We count as members notable celebrities, adventurers, sports stars, astronauts, more Presidents than any other fraternity, and so many more

For career advancement, strategic relationship development, and personal growth, the ∆KE Network knows no equal. Whether it be an introduction in passing, or getting to know someone over the course of years, the Delta Kappa Epsilon name carries with it the confidence and trust of over 170 years of upstanding gentility, distinction, and refinement.

∆KE is an Exclusive Social Club

Brother Zachary Starko, being awarded Kappa Kappa Gamma's Keyman award, 2017.

Often, new members' initial reason for rushing ∆KE is the social opportunities it provides. We maintain strong relations with all eight UBC sororities, hosting weekly mixers (commonly known as exchanges), frequent exclusive parties, as well as our signature ragers, like the annual Six Shooter country event and Mathletes vs. Athletes event in September.

Beyond that, we pair with on-campus groups, such as the UBC Calendar and EDM Club, to throw massive events that draw huge numbers. Kappa Kappa Gamma's annual Keyman award has gone to ∆KEs the past two years, with ∆KEs also awarded Kappa Alpha Theta Flyguy for two back to back terms and Alpha Omicron Pi's Omicron King 2017. Alpha Delta Pi went so far as to award their Lion King trophy to the entire chapter, for generous contributions from all ∆KEs to the benefit of their chapter in 2016. To say our members are involved in the Greek community would be a vast understatement.

We count our members as part of numerous on campus organizations such as the Inter-Fraternity Council, the Alma Mater Society, the UBC Calendar and several student societies. We pride on campus involvement at ∆KE, as we provide our members with the tools to succeed in any area of life they pursue.

Delta Kappa Epsilon's Phi Alpha (UBC) chapter proves itself time and time again to be a tried and true part of the UBC experience, both as an undergraduate student and later in life.
